Banya Bukirich (registered name Bukirich) turned into an outside heater. She has been nicknamed a "volleyball genius."
Bukirich, born in 1999, is playing his second V-League season as a 198-cm-tall striker. Last year, he played as an apogee while wearing the Korea Expressway Corporation uniform. This year, he has been appointed as the chief of staff of the association, and is currently playing as an outside heater. He is displaying strong attack strength by pairing with Asian quarter player Megawatti Puttiwi.
Bukiric played in 60 sets in 15 matches and scored 343 points this season. He is currently ranked third in scoring, fourth in offense and fourth in serve. Not only that. As an outside heater, he has also participated in receiving and is ranking seventh in receiving.
The team's attack share stands at 33.55 percent and 26.51 percent in attack efficiency this season. The team observed receiving share and efficiency at 25.33 percent and 34.31 percent, respectively.
There were moments when the team faltered for a while in the early days of the season, but Jeong's team got united again at a moment of crisis. Vukrich is also exerting strong performance on the court, energizing the team.
Coach Chung Kwan-jang and Ko Hee-jin also said, "I have quite a talent. I have been playing volleyball for 35 years, and it is difficult for such a tall player to belatedly discover his talent for defense. A middle blocker can play an apogit, an apogit can play a middle blocker. Being an outside heater means that you have talent. We should be grateful to the Serbian national team as well."
Chung's double shots are threatening. "If I join with Mega, the opponent blockers will be dispersed. Bookerich is gaining more confidence and it is possible because we have the blocking tactic that we want. We are grateful for him," Koh said without hesitation.
Jeong Kwan-jang, who met Heungkuk Life again as a whole team on Thursday, won the game 3-1, continuing his five-game winning streak. At the same time, he stopped Heungkuk Life from winning the opening 15 consecutive games. Bukirich scored at a critical moment and played the role of troubleshooter.
"I'm so happy to beat the No. 1 team," Vukrich said after the match, but added, "I'm still having a hard time adapting to the outside heater. I think I naturally get the angle of attack when I'm playing as an apogit, but I'm still having a hard time. I'm trying my best. I think I'll be able to take some more time off from now on."
Nicknamed the "Volleyball Genius," he smiled, saying, "I think Kim Yeon-kyung is the first genius. Technically, I tried to imitate what Yeon-kyung did."
He added, "I think the step to find the ball has become faster than when I first came to Korea. I don't always hit hard, but as I have a little bit of time, I started to see empty places."
Vukrich's role model is world-renowned Apogit Tyana Voskovic. Born in 1997, Vukrich is playing for the Serbian national team. With Vukrich now turning into an outside heater, however, chances are high that he and Voskovic will be on the court together. Vukrich also expressed high expectations, saying, "I think it would be good to join the national team as I have improved my sense of receiving. Isn't Voskovic the best apogit? If I want to play with the players, I think I will naturally play as an outside heater."
Bukic was selected as an apogee for the Serbian national team in the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIVB) Volleyball Nations League (VNL). In the third week of VNL held in Japan, Bukic scored 26 points alone. Attention is also focusing on Bukic's moves at the 2025 international competition. 메이저놀이터
